Dear Colleagues:

The ILL Section of Kansaikan, National Diet Library (NDL) just informed me that, because of transition to their new service NDL Online which will begin in January 2018, they will stop accepting ILL requests from libraries after November 30, 2017. They will resume accepting ILL requests on January 5, 2018.

As for copy service, NDL will stop accepting copy requests on December 17, 2017 and will resume the copy service on January 5, 2018. For more details, please look at “Notification of interruption of services” at their website at: http://www.ndl.go.jp/en/2018renewal/06.html.

With the new NDL Online, you will be able to submit your ILL and copy requests in its English search interface. In this relation, the current service of sending your ILL requests by email will end on December 1, 2017, and that of sending copy requests by email will end on December 15, 2017. For more details, please look at “How to make requests for photocopy or interlibrary loan services via email” at: http://www.ndl.go.jp/en/service/copy_requestviaemail.html.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you very much for your attention.

Best regards,

Toshie Marra, co-chair, ILL/DD Committee
