About the Library:
The origin of the library of Human and Environmental Studies, known as the Jinkan Library, dates back to the foundation of the Library of the Third Higher School, which was taken over by the Library of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1949. After the Library of the Faculty of Integrated Human Studies was established in 1992, the library became the part of the facility. The Jinkan library was given its' current name in 2003. In 2008, "Wa-on," the learning commons space, opened for group study discussions and study meetings.
The library holds about 590,000 volumes (310,000 in Japanese) and about 5,100 periodical titles.
In April 2014, the library renamed as Yoshida-South Library.
