About the Library:

The Law Library was founded in 1899 with the Kyoto College.  The library holds 660,910 books and 2,810 periodical titles (1,308 in Japanese, 1,502 in Western languages as of 2008).  The library holds materials on law, political science, and Japanese and foreign legislation.

Prior to the Visit: Advance Inquiry and Preparation Required

  • Please ask home institution library to fill out the "request for holding verification form" (所蔵調査依頼用紙 Shozōchōsa iraiyōshi ).
  • Please send the form to:

  • Please verify the desired material is available by using KULINE.
Upon Arrival:
  • Please present the response to 所蔵調査依頼用紙.
  • Please present some form of personal ID
