Meiji University: Ikuta Library (生田図書館)

The Ikuta Library holds about 445,944 books, and 7,952 periodical titles in the area of natural science. The library is located at Ikuta Campus.

Collection Size (As of 2015):

• Books: 445,944 volumes 
  • Japanese Books: 274,039 volumes
  • Non Japanese Books: 171,905 volumes

• Periodicals: 7,952 titles
  • Japanese 4,997 titles
  • Non Japanese 2,955 titles

Focus: Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Science and Technology

Note: The Guide uses the ALA/LC standard romanization, however, it also reflects different romanization system used by an individual institution.

Using the Library

Users can access to the library materials (without CD-ROMs) and photocopy service.

Prior to the Visit: Advance Inquiry and Preparation Required

• Please ask the home institution library to contact them to verify the desired material is available (by Fax).

• Please verify the desired material is available by using OPAC.

• After receiving a reply from the library, please ask the home institution library to issue a referral letter (please feel free to use Library Materials Request Form
• Material Request Form ( Word,  PDF).

• Letter of Introduction (紹介状 Shōkaijō) from your home institution library (please use the following form if the home institution does not have one):

• A letter of Introduction (Word,  PDF)

Upon Arrival:

• Please present the referral letter and some form of personal ID.
