About the Kumagaya Library:

The Mizuhodai library holds about 120,000 items related to cultural communications, management, and human environmental studies.

Collection Size (As of 2014):

• Books: 177,969 volumes

• Japanese: 145,309 volumes

• Western languages: 32,660 volumes

• Periodicals: 904 titles

• Japanese: 701 titles

• Western languages: 213titles

• Audio Visual Materials: 5,842 items

Focus: Culture, Communication, Management, Human Environment

Note: The Guide uses the ALA/LC standard romanization, however, it also reflects a different romanization system used by an individual institution or collection.

Using the Library

Prior to the Visit: Advance inquiry recommended

Upon Arrival:

• At the Main Counter located on the first floor:

• Please present some form of personal ID

• Please obtain "IDカード (ID card valid for the whole school year, i.e. until April" in order to use the library.

Photocopy:

• Photocopy services are provided in accordance with Japanese copyright laws.

• Copy Fee:

• Black: 10 yen

• Color: 50 yen

Borrowing:

• Up to 5 books for 14 days

• Up to 5 back numbered periodicals for 7 days

Accessing Closed Stack and Rare Materials

• Please ask the Library staff at the counter.
