The College of Humanities and Sciences Library stores about 780,000 volumes.  The Library holds a variety of subjects from humanities to natural sciences. In the building, there is also a computer center called Information Square. There are 170 terminals that help users collecting information resources.

Nihon University College of Humanities Sciences was founded in 1901. Nihon University is the only university in Japan that integrates Humanities with Sciences The College of Humanities and Science has seventeen majors.  In addition, because of a variety of courses are available, the school has been able to train and produce many teachers.

How to Use the Facility

Using the Library

Prior to the Visit:

  • Letter of Introduction (紹介状 Shōkaijō) required from your home institution Please use the following form if the home institution does not have one:
    • Letter of Introduction (Word,  PDF)

Upon Arrival:

  • Please present Letter of Introduction and some form of photo ID at the reception counter (受付カウンター) on the first floor .
  • For one day visit only, please fill out the application form (利用申請用紙 Riyō shinsei yōshi) to obtain a guest card (図書館利用者証 Toshokan riyōshashō).
  • For more services such as borrowing, please fill out the application form (図書館利用申請書 Toshokan riyō shinseisho).  If approved, a pass (good until the year end) will be issued in about a week.
