The Goodson Law Library was redesigned in 2008 to meet the 21st century information needs of the Duke University Law School community. This includes spaces for studying in groups or alone, media, technology, and providing access to the library's collection.

Collection size: as of March 2014 the law library had nearly 200,000 items of which only about 400 are in Japanese. The Goodson Law Library collections are primarily focused on Anglo-American law, with growing European and Asian law collections.
