The library stores a wide variety of materials related to Okinawa at both open and closed stacks.

• Japanese: 620,161 volumes

• Foreign: 253,065 volumes

• Periodicals: 18,656 titles

• Japanese: 12,604 titles

• Foreign: 6,052 titles

Note: The Guide uses the ALA/LC standard romanization, however, it also reflects a different romanization system used by an individual institution or collection.

Using the Library

Prior to the Visit: Preparation Recommended

• Please make sure that material(s) are available by checking the OPAC.
  

Upon Arrival:

• Please fill out the request form (学外者入館記録簿 Gakugaisha nyūkan kirokubo) at the entrance

Accessing Closed Stack

• Some Okinawan Materials are stored in the Okinawan Materials Room (Closed Stack).
  

• Please fill out the request (館内閲覧証 Kannai eturanshō) and submit it to the service counter by 16:30.

Accessing Rare Materials

• Collections such as Iha Fuyu Bunko (伊波普猷文庫) and Miyara Dunchi Bunko (宮良殿内文庫) are rare materials.

• Please fill out the request form "貴重資料利用許可願" before the visit.
