About the Toyo Bunko Museum:

Toyo Bunko Museum was opened in 2011 for the purpose of expanding intrest in Oriental Studies among the general public interest.  The collection includes Morrison's Stacks, over 24,000 items purchased from GE Morrison, and the Iwasaki Collection, which includes ukiyo-e, (national treasures and important cultural properties).

Notable Collection(s):

  • Morrison's Stacks:  Purchased from GE Morrison, the collection includes books about Asia (written in Western languages), paintings, brochures, etc (24,000 items).
  • Iwasaki Collection (岩崎文庫): The collection includes ukiyo-e, which are national treasures and important cultural properties.
