About Toyo Bunko:

Toyo Bunko (東洋文庫, Tōyo bunko) was founded by Iwasaki Hisaya Mr. Mitsubishi third generation family head in 1924. The library is the oldest and largest in Oriental Medicine

Today, Toyo Bunko is considered one of the five prominent oriental studies research library in the world with about 1,000,000 library materials, including five national treasures  and seven important cultural assets .  

There are currently 80 staff members, including researchers, working at the library.   Research area include transcendence studies, history and cultural studies and documentation research.
