Overview

About Japan Foundation:

Established in 1972, the Japan Foundation was the first institution created by the government to promote cultural, and intellectual exchanges as well as, Japanese language education.  In 2003, the organization became an independent administrative institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). 

The Japan Foundation's headquarter is in Shinjuku, Tokyo. There are also two domestic Japanese-Language Institutes in Saitama and Tajiri, Osaka.
