Multi-Volume Sets Project (MVS) ARCHIVE: Duplicate Prescreening Process

A freely circulating collection of Japanese resources held in over 35 institutions nationally. Containing near 42,000 items in all fields of Japanese studies. Principally funded by the Japan-US Friendship Commission.

Duplicate Prescreening Process

An applicant must conduct a full bibliographic search of selected titles in OCLC to determine their uniqueness within US collections before submitting them to the MVS Committee for the duplicate prescreening process. The Committee will conduct an extensive duplicate search of the submitted titles and report the result to each applicant, who may then proceed to the MVS application process. While prescreening is not required for MVS applications, it helps prevent submission of multiple applications for the same title. The applicant who completes the prescreening process will have priority over other applicants who apply for the same title without this preliminary process.

Please use the downloadable online template to submit titles for duplicate prescreening. Please send them by email attachment to: MVS co-chair Azusa Tanaka atanaka@wustl.edu by November 1, 2012.  Please include “2012-13 NCCMVS duplicate prescreening” in subject line.

Template for Submitting Titles for NCC 2012-13 MVS Duplicate Prescreening is available here.

Please note that a submission of titles for duplicate prescreening is NOT an MVS grant application.
