About the Tsukuba Botanical Garden:
Tsukuba Botanical Garden was opened in 1983 as a research branch of the National Museum of Nature and Science. The garden is one of Japan's foremost botanical research facilities, particularly on taxonomy, as well as providing public education.
The garden is about 36 acres, and it has about 5000 taxa of domestic and exotic plants, including tropical plants as well as plants from humidaral and other areas of the world.
