About National Archives of Japan:

National Archives of Japan was founded in July 1971 as an organization which is a part of the former Prime Minister's Office ( presently the Cabinet Office). Since then, it has held, manage and preserve historical administrative documents as well as conducted research and studies of those documents, provided training for preservation of those documents, and assisted finding documents for the users.
