Koyasan University: The Institute of Esoteric Culture (密教文化研究所）

The only Shingon esoteric Buddhism research center in Japan, which is attracting attention from researchers all over the world. The facility engages in data collection, research, training of researchers and publishing business. In addition the facility has an international laboratory that is open to scholars and researchers overseas. There is also a joint laboratory for both graduate student from the department of esoteric Buddhism and Buddhist Studies.

Note: The Guide uses the ALA/LC standard romanization, however, it also reflects different romanization system used by an individual institution.

1. Nankai Koya line (南海高野線) Osaka Nanba station (大阪難波駅):

• Limited Express (特急): About 1 hour 20 min. (4 trains a day)

• Express (急行): About 1 hour 40 min. (every 30 min.)
