About Koyasan University:

Koyasan University (高野山大学 Kōyasan daigaku) is a private university in Mount Kōya, Wakayama prefecture, which was chartered as a university in 1926, however, the predecessor of the university was founded on May 1, 1886.  The university is located on Mount Koya, a designated world heritage site.  Having the Department of esoteric Buddhism in the faculty of Letter and esoteric Buddhism and Buddhist studies in the graduate program, the Koya University conducts various researches and educate students based on the spirit of esoteric and other Buddhism.
