Founded in 1917, Kikkoman Corporation is a company, which is based in Noda-shi, Chiba Prefecture.  The company is the combination of eight family businesses such as Mogi and Takanashi (founded as early as 1603).

The company's main products and services are such as: soy sauce, food seasoning and flavoring, mirin, sake, juice and other beverages, pharmaceuticals and restaurant management services.

Since their establishment, Kikkoman has production plants not only in Japan (Hyōgo Prefecture and Hokkaido), but in the U.S., the Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan and China. Kikkoman is the most popular brand of soy sauce in Japan and the United States.
