Fukuoka University: Central Library (福岡大学 中央図書館）

About the Fukuoka University Library:

Since its foundation, Fukuoka University has been constantly working to improve their library system.   There is new central library, which was just completed in 2012, plus the Science Library, the Engineering Library, the Pharmaceutical Sciences Library, the Sports and Health Science Library and the Medicine Library.  

Together, there are about 1.92 million books, and more than 20,000 periodical titles.  Moreover, the university holds unique materials including a variety of local historical documents from the Kyushu area during the Edo period.  Some of their special collections such as Chinese style poetry collection from Edo and Meiji period 江戸•明治漢詩文コレクション has been digitized and available online.  The university library welcomes visitors from outside of the school.

• Books: 1,022,155 volumes
  • Japanese: 658,108 volumes
  • Western languages: 364,047 volumes

• Periodicals: 198,389 titles
  • Japanese: 103,928 titles
  • Western languages: 94,461 titles
