Waseda University: Science & Engineering Library (理工学図書館)

About the Library:

Science and Engineering Library is the research library was opened in April 1967. In 1989,  it was transferred to the current location from the department of science and engineering.

The library holds about 300,000 volumes of materials such as academic journals, foreign books, reference books, standard materials, and proceedings as well as online resources related to the field.  The Students' Reading Room holds 100,000 volumes of books.  The library is located at Nishi Waseda campus.

Collection Size (As of 2015): 

• Periodicals:1,916 titles
  • Japanese: 872 titles
  • Non Japanese: 1,044 titles

Using the Library

Prior to the Visit:

• Please find information on materials by using online library catalog (e-resources and audio visuals are excluded).

• Letter of Introduction (紹介状 Shōkaijō) from your home institution library. Please use the following form if the home institution does not have one:

• Your home institution library has to inquire about the availability of needed materials in the Central Library by contacting (individual inquires are not accepted):
