About the Library

The library was constructed in Koganei in 1961, with all the e branch libraries joining together on the Koganei campus by 1964. The present Library building was completed in 1974.

  • Mochizuki bunko (望月文庫): 1924,  Teaching education related materials donated by Mochizuki Gunshirō (望月軍四郎) and others, Textbooks since the Meiji period, 7,627 items

  • Matsuura bunko (松浦文庫): 1922, donated to Tokyo-fu Ōizumi shihan gakkō by Matsuura Shizujiro (松浦鎮次郎), Education History Compilation group (?) (教育史編纂会 Kyōikushi hensan kai ), 1470 items
  • Takehaya bunko (竹早文庫): 1938, bought from Japanese Culure Central Alliance (?) (日本文化中央連盟 Nihon bunka chuō renmei ) philosophy, history, literature and social science, 14,000 items

How to Use the Facility

Using the Library

The Library is open to the general public. Please refer to "Guide for Visitors".

Photocopy: Please refer to "How to use library materials".

  • Copy machines are available at news paper reading room on the first floor, next to the steps on the second floor, and closed stack at the basement.
  • Please fill out the copy request form (文献複写申込書 Bunken fukusha mōshikomisho ).

Accessing Closed Stack

  • Please fill out the form at the counter.
  • Please get the instruction at the counter.

Accessing Rare Books

Prior to the visit:

  • Please contact the library through the home institution by fax three business days prior to the visit.
