• Kabuki Sinpo (1879.2-1897.3) : Kabuki theater magazine From 1669 to 1897.  It was not allowed to publish outside of Japan. The contents include reviews, news on actors, and obituaries in this field.


• JAPAN, Shogun edition (12 vols.): It was published in Boston, 1897.  This volume set became the introduction to Japanese society, culture and  history for the Westerners. 

Note: The Guide uses the ALA/LC standard romanization, however, it also reflects a different romanization system used by an individual institution or collection.

Using the Library

Prior to the Visit:

• Letter of Introduction (紹介状 Shōkaijō) from your home institution.  Please use the following form if the home institution does not have one:

Upon Arrival:

• Please present ID.  Students, please present a Letter of Introduction from your home institution library.

• 10 times at a time

Photocopy:

• Please fill out Bunken fukusha mōshikomisho (文献複写申込書) and submit the form to the Photocopying Service Desk.

• For copying large Books (call numbers BA-BZ), fragile materials and materials published before 1900, please ask the staff at the counter.

• Self-service Copy Fee:

• Black: 10 yen

• Color: 50 yen
