About the Library:
The Institute of Asian, African, and Middle Eastern Studies library is located 6th floor of the Central Library (moved from L-423 on 4th floor to L-612). The library holdings include approximately 24,324 items (books, periodicals, and microfilms). Many of them are local language materials.
The Sophia Institute of Asian, African, and Middle Eastern Studies (IAAMES) was opened in 1982 to promote East-West cultural exchange, guided by the principles of Christian humanism. The institute focuses on South East Asia, South Asia the Middle East, and Africa.
Collection Size: Books: 24,324 volumes (April 1, 2018)
Focus: Southeast Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Africa
Islamic Area Studies Collection: library materials related to the field of society, history, religion, politics, and culture of the Islamic community. These materials are shelved in (6th floor, Room 612 Central Library) Asian culture laboratory library. In addition to the European language, Arabic, Indonesian, and Malay books are in available.
Southeast Asia Kitaab Collection: About 1800 titles of Kitaab (Islamic book) are shelved in (6th floor, Room 612 Central Library) Asian culture laboratory.
