About Kobe University:
Kobe University (神戸大学 Kobe daigaku), was established 1949, however, the origin of the university dates back to 1902, when the Kobe Higher Commercial School (神戸高等商業学校 Kōbe kōtō shōgyō gakkō) was established. In 1929 the school was renamed Kobe University of Commerce (神戸商業大学 Kōbe shōgyō daigaku), and in 1944, the school was renamed Kobe University of Economics (神戸経済大学 Kōbe keizai daigaku).
Today, the university has 11 faculities: letters, intercultural studies, human development, law, economics, business administration, science, medicine, engineering, agriculture, and maritime sciences. The university also has 14 graduate programs: humanities, intercultural studies, human development and environment, law, economics, business administration, science, medicine, health sciences, engineering, system informatics, agricultural science, maritime sciences, international cooperation studies.
