About the Library:
The International House of Japan (IHJ) Library is a special library serving the field of Japanese Studies, and a center for reference services and support for international scholars. The library not only offers general library services, but also organize workshops for Japanese Studies information specialists. Through these activities, IHJ library closely works with institutions overseas as well as in Japan.
IHJ Library holds 250,000 books, and 500 periodical titles on Japanese Studies, International Relations and East Asian Studies, written mostly in English.

With its holdings of predominantly English language materials, the International House of Japan Library is an excellent reference resource. Its library staff is multilingual and extremely helpful in assisting foreign scholars and in helping them gain access to other libraries in Japan.

The Asia Leadership Fellow Program (ALFP)
The two month program brings selected leaders from different regions of Asia to stay at International House of Japan to conduct collaborative and individual research, and to take part in various intellectual exchange activities. Since the initiation of the Program, the ALFP has annually invited 6 to 7 Fellows from nearly 15 Asian countries. This program is co-organized with the Japan Foundation.
