About Learned Memorial Library:

Learned Memorial Library was opened in 1986 on the Kyotanabe Campus.  Learned Memorial Library was named in honor of D. W. Learned, who taught for 52 years at Doshisha Academy of English Studies.

Learned Memorial Library has about 270,000 books, consisting primarily of basic educational materials.

Collection Size: 270,000 volumes

Note: The Guide uses the ALA/LC standard romanization, however, it also reflects different romanization system used by an individual institution.

Using the Library

Prior to the Visit:

• Please ask the home institution library to contact them to verify the desired material is available.

Upon Arrival:

• Please present some form of personal ID.

• Please present the letter of Introduction.

• Please present the approval letter from the library.

Photocopy: 

• Photocopy services are provided in accordance with Japanese copyright laws.
• Copy Fee: 10 yen per copy
