After a welcoming meeting with Mr. Ikuhara, Director General the Kansai-kan, we toured the library with staff members. Throughout the tour, we learnt about the main functions of the Kansai-kan as a core of the "digital library" service of the national library in Japan as well as a center for materials on East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa (Asian Resources Room).
