About the Library:

The Museum of Fine Arts library includes the William Morris Hunt Memorial Library, and the W. Van Alan Clark, Jr. Library. The W. Van Alan Clark, Jr. Library is designed to support the curriculum and research of students, faculty, and staff of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.

While the library is considered the circulating branch of the William Morris Hunt Memorial Library, only members of the Fenway Libraries Online consortium are allowed to borrow materials. This consortium gives students access to over 909,000 books and other materials.

Summary of Collections

Collection size: as of March 2014

Due to their mission to support the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, the W. Van Alan Clark Jr. Library's collections focus primarily on twentieth and twenty-first century art. The collection is comprised of approximately 20,000 items, with a small portion in Japanese. A larger selection, while written in English, focuses on Japanese works of art.
