About Buddhist Art Library:

Since its opening in 1980, the Buddhist Library has created, collected and conserved research data related to Buddhist art, and has published related books and photos.

Collection size: As of April, 2008

• Books: 67,000 volumes

• Periodicals: 3,000 periodical titles

• Photo: 128,000 images

• Catalogs: 10,000 exhibition catalogs

Focus: Buddhist Art

Note: The Guide uses the ALA/LC standard romanization, however, it also reflects a different romanization system used by an individual institution or collection.

Using the Library

Upon Arrival:

• Please enter the building site from the south gate.

• Please register at the west entrance reception desk in the building.

• Please verify the desired material is available by using Buddhist Art Library OPAC.

Photocopy:

• Photocopy services are provided in accordance with Japanese copyright laws.

• Copy services are restricted to written materials only.

• Service Hours: Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30-16:30
