About Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo:

Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (a.k.a. MOT)  was opened in 1995. The museum has about 4,000 items of postwar art collections from both Japan and around the world.

The permanent collection presents a chronological study of 40 years of contemporary art since 1960; there are about 100 works displayed alternately. 

Special exhibits are held regularly in accordance with changes in art trend Special exhibitions (they call temporary exhibits) display from Southeast Asian art to a representative selection of Jasper Johns' life work.

Other art works include works by Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, Frank Stella, Sandro Chia, Mark Rothko, and Julian Schnabel.
