About Kagawa Prefecutural Archives
Kagawa Prefectural Archives was opened in 1994. The archives collects and preserves documents and records from local governments, old documents from well known local families, and other administrative documents.
Historical and official documents/records from Kagawa Prefecture (26,000 volumes)
Copies of the compiled historical materials of Kagawa Prefecture (7,000 items)
Various records from government offices (109,000 items)

JR Takamatsu station (高松駅):
Please get off at Kenritsu toshokan bunshokan mae (県立図書館・文書館前)and walk to the archive (about 1minute).
Visiting the Archives
Prior to the Visit: No Advance Inquiry and Preparation Required
Upon Arrival:
Only pens and a notebook are allowed in the reading room. Please leave your personal belongings in the locker.
Please present your ID (name and address) to obtain user permission (文書館利用証 Bunshokan riyōshō).
The catalog is available in the reading room. Please fill out the reading materials request form (文書等閲覧請求票 Bunshotō etsuran seikyūhyō).
Some fragile materials are not avilable for reading due to their condition.

Photocopy services are provided in accordance with Japanese copyright laws.
Please fill out the copy request form (申請書 Shinseisho)
