About the Facility:
The Modern Literature Museum was opened in1968 at the former book stacks building of Kyūsei daishi kōutō gakkō 旧制第四高等学校. It is the second literature museum next to the Museum of Modern Literature. Ishikawa prefecture produced many creators including Izumi Kyōka (泉鏡花), Tokuda Shūsei (徳田秋声) and Murō Saisei (室生犀星), known as the best three literature greats. The museum exhibits their literary works, writing drafts, favorite objects, etc.

Original manuscripts of engraved writing onTokuda Shūsei (徳田秋聲) stone monument at Mount Utatsu (卯辰山).
Final draft of Giketsu kyōketsu (義血侠血): A novel written by Izumi Kyōka (泉鏡花) in his early days.
Manuscript for Ai no shishū (愛の詩集): Murō Saisei (室生犀星)'s first poem collection.
