About Yasukuni Shurine:

The origin of Yasukuni shrine dates back in 1869 when Tōkyō Shōkansha (東京招魂社) was built by the will of the Emperor Meiji  to commemorate and honor the achievement of those who dedicated their precious lives for their country.  ln 1879, it was renamed the "Yasukuni Shrine."  The name "Yasukuni"  was given by the Emperor Meiji wishing for preserving peace of the nation.

Currently, more than 2,466,000 people were buried here at Yasukuni Shrine. Those are people who made ultimate sacrifice for their nation since 1853 during national crisis such as the Boshin War (戊辰戦争), the Seinan War (西南の戦争), the Sino-Japanese War (日清戦争), Russo-Japanese War (日露戦争),  World War I, the Manchurian Incident (満洲事変), the China Incident (支那事変) and the Greater East Asian War (World War II)
