About the Library:

Founded in 1926, the Business and Economics Library  provides library services to members of the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as the general public.  The library specializes in economics, and holds information materials related to the following: corporate information, industry outlooks, company/organizational histories, statistics and business activities.

About The Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry:

In 1987, the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (東京商工会議所, aka TCCI) was founded by a group of business owners including Shibusawa Eiichi (渋沢栄一), the first chairman of the TCCI. TCCI's main objective is to support the activities of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

In addition, TCCI  provides assistance, which customized to meet each company's needs. TCCI also supports the local economy in cooperation with stakeholders.

Reading only

Prior to the visit (For the first visit): Advance Inquiry and Preparation Required

• Please verify that the desired material is available by using "蔵書検索データベース."
  

• Please download the library materials request form, "閲覧室申込書 Etsuranshitsu mōshikomisho (excel)"

• Please fill out the form in Japanese. On the "閲覧希望資料" section, please include 資料名 (title of the material)・ 年代 (year)・内容 (contents)・登場人物 (characters)・研究目的等　具体的に調べたい内容 (the purpose of your research)

• Please send "閲覧室申込書" by e-mail (your subject for the e-mail should be "閲覧希望"):

Note: Pre-World War materials are only available in microform.

Upon Arrival:

• Please submit "閲覧室申込書" at the counter along with your business card.

• If you are student, please show your student ID (let them know in advance if you don't have one).

• Photocopy services are provided in accordance with Japanese copyright laws.
