About Shochiku Otani Library:
Shōchiku Ōtani Library was founded in 1956, a year after Ōtani Takejirō, one of the founder of Shōchiku Company, Limited, was awarded the Order of Culture 文化勲章 (Bunka kunshō). The Library specializes in materials related to Theater and Movies. In 2011, the library became a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation.
Shōchiku Ōtani Library currently holds 420,000 materials including scripts, documents, magazines, photo collections, and posters from plays, film, and television.
