About Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies
Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies(IMES) was founded in October 1982 as the research section of the Bank of Japan. IMES conducts theoretical, research from institutional and historical perspectives to establish an appropriate background for ensuring sound monetary policy in the future. IMES supports and exchanges ideas with academic institutions, both inside and outside of Japan, and collects monetary and economic research, and disseminates research results to the public.
