About Japan Ukiyo-E Museum:

The Japan Ukiyo-E Museum was opened in 1982 in Matsumoto Nagano Prefecture; it is considering the best museums of ukiyoe art in Japan.

The museum houses the private collection of the Sakai Family of over 100,000 prints, including representative masterpieces of all known ukiyoe artists.

The exhibition frequently changes (every 2 months), and each time, the museum displays about 100 to 150 items

A 10-minute slide show (available in English) explains the current exhibition, and a pamphlet describes the history of the collection and how woodblock prints are made.
