About Tokushima Prefecutural Archives
Tokushima Prefectural Archives was opened in 1959. The Archives collects and preserves documents and records from local government, photo images and maps from Tokushima as a castle town before the town was destroyed as a result of World War II.
The Tokushima Prefectural Archives is part of Bunka-no-Mori Comprehensive Park, an urban park created in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Tokushima Prefecture. There are 6 buildings in the park: a library, museum, Ryuzo Torii Memorial Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Archives, and 21st Century Museum.
Notable Collection(s): Historical documents and records from Tokushima prefecture.

Please get off at the last stop and walk to the archive (about 1minute).
Visiting the Archives
Prior to the Visit:

Please put your belongings in the locker.
Hours: 9:30-12:00, 13:00-16:30
Up to 10 items may be requested at a time.
Please fill out the reading material request (閲覧票 Etsuranhyō).
For old documentations in the envelopes, please return them in the envelopes.
For rare materials, please ask the staff for assistance.
Please let the staff know when you leave the reading room.
