About the University of Kansas:

Founded in 1865, the University of Kansas is a major research and teaching university, and the only Kansas Regents university to hold membership in the Association of American Universities.

The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures offers five languages: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Tibetan, and Uyghur.
