About The International Research Center for Japanese Studies:
The International Research Center for Japanese Studies, also known as (日文研 Nichibunken), was established in May, 1987, with funding for scientific research from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, (文部科学省 Monbu Kagakushō). Nichibunken is a research institute supporting interdisciplinary Japanese studies, including perspectives from both inside and outside Japan. Nichibunken's mission is to provide Japan studies-related information, as well as to support scholarly exchanges throughout the world.
Nichibunken also provides housing to visiting scholars and their families at the Nichibunken House. The facility consists of 10 units for couples, 5 units for families, and 25 single units.
