About the Archives

The Women's Archives Center was established in June 2008 to collect historical materials on pioneer women, women's group activities and public records on women's education and women's/gender-equal policy.

The acquired materials are organized are preserved and used for learning and for the research in order to realize a gender-equal society in collaboration with other organizations.

Notable Collection(s):
  • Oku Mumeo (奥 むめお) Collection: Oku Mumeo (1895-1997), a female politician who engaed in the women's movement. The colleciton contains documents, and photos.
  • Inatori fujin gakkyū shiryō (稲取婦人学級資料): (1954-1957)  documents of classes participated by members of the Fujinkai (women's organization).

Using the Archives

Upon Arrival:

  • Reading Room (3rd Floor of Main Building)
  • Service Hours: 9:00-17:00 (Last Entry 16:30)
  • Materials are stored in the closed stack.  Please state name of the material (利用希望資料) on the request form, and submit at the counter.
