About The National Museum of Art, Osaka:

The National Museum of Art, Osaka (NMAO) was opened on October 15, 1977, It was Japan's fourth national museum. The facility was developed at the place where the Expo Museum of Fine Arts at Expo'70 was held.

As of March 2011, NMAO holds a total of 6,109 works. They consists of about 3,000 of printed materials,including Yoko's posters, over half of the entire collection might be said to consist of about 3,000 prints, 751 watercolors or sketches and 605 photographs. The rest includes 593 paintings, 26 of which are "Nihonga" (Japanese-style painting), 319 sculptures, 76 crafts, and industrial design works such as furniture and lighting fixtures.
Finally, there are 633 reproductions of "Ukiyo-e" prints.

Notable Collection(s):

In 1978, The chemist and businessman Kaichi Ohashi's donated 828 items to the museum. They include: 225 were paintings by AbeNobuya, Sugimata Tadashi, Nambata Tatsuyoshi, Imai Toshimitsu, Kikuhata Mokuma, Shiraga Kazuo, Motonaga Sdamasa, Georges Mathieu and Paul Jenkins, 586 prints, including 475 items by Isobe Yukihisa, and 17 sculptures by Kimura Kentaro and Mori Bushiro.

All of the works were produced between the late 50s and the 60s.
