CDDP Video Series Highlight: Digital Exhibitions with Cultural Japan: Self Museum

In response to the challenges and obstacles created by the COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing importance of digital tools for access to Japanese material, NCC’s Comprehensive Digitization and Discoverability Program Task Force (CDDP) is collaborating with institutions and scholars to release a video series highlighting digital resources for teaching, learning, and research. Created with funding support from Toshiba International Foundation (TIFO), the CDDP Video Series offers instructional videos on freely available resources and cutting-edge projects related to Japanese Studies, highlighting useful tools and best practices. If this sounds intriguing to you, you may want to explore the video for our Comprehensive Digitization and Discoverability Program video series by Satoru Nakamura (University of Tokyo). He has prepared a video introducing the Self Museum, a medium for showcasing online materials. Created as part of the Cultural Japan project primarily by Takeshi Abekawa (National Institute of Informatics), this platform allows the display of digital resources published in IIIF format from around the world in a 3D exhibition space.
