Association of Haiku Poets: Museum of Haiku Literature (俳句文学館)

About the Museum:

The Museum of Haiku Literature was opened in 1977 as the only library in the world specializing library materials related to Haiku. Their collection covers all modern Haiku and related works since Masaoka Shiki (正岡子規). These include a wide selection of magazines and anthologies, reference works, seasonal word dictionaries, and many other publications and acquisitions.

Collection Size: (As of 2011)

• Anthologies and Other Publications: 53,098 volumes

• Saijiki (歳時記): 565 volumes

• Encyclopedia: 433 volumes

• Complete Collected Works: 662 volumes

• Magazines: 319,120 volumes

Focus: Haiku

Note: The Guide uses the ALA/LC standard romanization, however, it also reflects different romanization system used by an individual institution.
