About the Banker's Library

The Bankers Library was opened in 1897, but after the World War II, the library was closed because of the occupation of the Allied Forces. The library was reopened in 1960 after 15 years of closing. In September 1966, the Library moved to the present location as a new building was completed and renamed as Ginko Toshokan.

The Bankers Library holds library materials related to money, banking and finance. Among them, especially, histories of individual banking institutions and bankers associations as well as of periodicals published by financial institutions around the world.

  • Keizai Bunko: Published before the World War II including books published during 18th and 19th centuries (20,000 volumes).
