About the National Women's Education Center

In July 1977, National Women's Education Center (NWEC) was established as an institution affiliated to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. Initially, it comprised the Administrative Division and the Program Division.

Since their establishment, the NWEC has promoted women's education and contributed to the initiative for a gender-equal society through conducting training programs for regional government officers, educational and group leaders, and international trainees and other personnel in the women's study field, and conducting specialized research and surveys.
